Te Kura Correspondence

Aho o Te Kura Pounamu, (formerly known as The Correspondence School) is commonly called Te Kura and is actually New Zealand’s largest school, providing education programmes to more than 23,000 students every year.

Some of the students at Palmerston North Girls High School are native speakers of other languages and want to maintain those language and cultural links, and gain NCEA credits as well. If you are a student who is a native speaker of Chinese, Japanese, German or Samoan, you may be able to do the language through Te Kura, which is a full correspondence course. Te Kura has the requirement for mahi (work) to be submitted regularly so that your progress can be monitored. If you fail to submit mahi, you may be removed from the Te Kura roll.
