Drama and Media Studies

Why study Drama and Media Studies?

Studying and performing Drama is a creative, co-operative and enjoyable way to gain confidence, grow your literacy skills and build relationships. Even if you do not intend to work in the arts, the skills you develop will support you throughout your life. The ability to present yourself and communicate effectively are important in many careers. Lawyers, doctors, teachers, managers... all need these skills.

Media Studies helps us to understand our world, particularly our relationship with the media. It opens our eyes to the reality of our society and our part in the world. It also allows us to be both creative and analytical - we make media products for specific audiences, learn about social media and its positives and pitfalls, and generally gain insight into our lives in a digital visual age.
