Physical Education and Health

Why study Physical Education and Health?

Physical Education and Health allows students an opportunity to develop a positive attitude towards physical activity and allows them to learn to identify how being active can impact on their Hauora (wellbeing), both now and in the future. Throughout the year students will enhance interactions and relationships with others and have the opportunity to focus on and develop:

*Movement skills

*Mana tangata (leadership skills)

*Kotahitanga (team work)

*Whanaungatanga (connection and unity through interpersonal skills)

The Physical Education and Health Department strives to create learning environments that focus on Manaakitanga (support and encouragement) which creates inclusive and positive surroundings to allow all students to develop a positive relationship with physical activity.
