Course Description

This course teaches the essential skills of everyday Mathematics.
This course is aimed at students who need support in meeting the required Numeracy standard and who may not intend to study Mathematics further after this year.
Topics are based on the following content ideas . . .
- Fluently and flexibly solve problems that require operations on numbers, understanding the relative size of those numbers, and making sense of the answer in context.
- Recognise and work with mathematical relationships.
- Understand and use the spatial properties and representations of objects.
- Understand and use systems to locate and navigate.
- Use numbers and units to measure and express attributes of objects and events as quantities, to a degree of precision appropriate to the context.
- Understand and reason with statistics and data.
- Use probability to interpret situations that involve elements of chance.
What should I have already done?
This course is designed for students who have completed the Year 10 Mathematics course of study but need extra support to achieve success.

Please note that you will need approval from the HOD to progress to L2 Foundation Mathematics from L1 Mathematics Studies.
Credit Information
You will be assessed in this course through all or a selection of the standards listed below.
