Year 11 Science Plus

Course Description

Teacher in Charge: Dr D. Pontin, Mr A. McCreary.

You will learn how to gather data accurately and precisely, analyse it using mean values or graphical techniques and use scientific reasoning to explain a trend. You will investigate scientifically and write a report.

You will learn about the different ways atoms and elements can bond together and the different types of chemical reactions. You will investigate what affects the rates of these reactions. You will find out what the differences in properties are between metallic and non- metallic substances.

You will learn how genetic information is inherited and how this is linked to socio-scientific issues.

You will learn about forces and energy and how to concisely explain a range of physical phenomena both textually and mathematically.
