Year 11 Te Reo Māori
Course Description

In Level 1 Te Reo Māori you will continue building on everyday language and structures relevant to teenagers with some more complex language introduced to enable discussing specific details. Possible topics include recipes, school, hui Marae, the teenage world and home which will be explored through conversation writing, letter writing, reading and comparing and contrasting. Activities may include building model houses, cooking and making movie trailers.

Y10 Te Reo Māori or in consultation with HOD Māori.

We welcome and encourage all ākonga to learn and embrace Te Reo Māori and kaiako will support all ākonga in their learning journeys. Te Reo Māori is an official language of Aotearoa and, as the awareness around the significance of Te Reo Māori increases, career opportunities are also increasing for speakers of Te Reo Māori.
Assessment Information
You will complete one NCEA Internal assessment from the three possible internal assessments as well as small assessments covering speaking, listening, reading and writing skills. Assessments will occur throughout the year as new vocabulary and topics are covered.Disclaimer
