Year 10 Design and Visual Communication

Course Description

Teacher in Charge: Mr S. Kumar.

Creative and innovative skills including freehand and instrumental 2D/3D drawing, product design, spatial design and presentation project work. Computer aided drawing, modelling and creating laser cut products.

Where does it lead?  11 DVC.  Every aspect of our daily lives involves design, from the products we use to the spaces we occupy, DVC skills are useful for many future careers, e.g. architect, interior design, urban design, product design, surveyor, landscape design, graphic design, visual merchandiser.

What should I have already done?

This course is open entry.

Course Contribution

$20 stationery and equipment.

Pathway

Students who study Design and Visual Communication are open to career pathways such as: Interior Design, Architecture, Creative Technologies, Spatial and Industrial Design, Interior Design, Engineering and other design fields at tertiary level education.

Assessment Information

Students will work towards two main projects - Spatial project and Product Design, while also gaining skills in rendering, presentation, 2D/3D drawing, Computer Aided Drawing and Laser cut products.
