This course is for those students wanting to do an additional trimester of te reo Māori and aims to continue supporting you to communicate at a basic level in Māori. There will be an emphasis on activity-based learning with lots of opportunities for you to speak and listen to te reo. Students with an immersion or bi-lingual background will be offered an extension course tailored to their needs.

Te Reo Māori is available up to Year 13.


What should I have already done?

You should have already done Year 9 Te Reo Māori or at the discretion of the HOD Māori.

Pathway

We welcome and encourage all ākonga to learn and embrace Te Reo Māori and kaiako will support all ākonga in their learning journeys. Te Reo Māori is an official language of Aotearoa and, as the awareness around the significance of Te Reo Māori increases, career opportunities are also increasing for speakers of Te Reo Māori.
